Day 94 - 20th November, 2024

Sunday was a good day. It was chilly but bright and the walk was a very pleasant one considering the time of year. Despite the mountain of leaves on the pavement there are still plenty on the trees adding a lot of colour to the square.

My grandson Tom and his wife Becky travelled down from North Yorkshire to visit and we had a good time chatting away. Tom also sorted out a few little technical problems with my iPad and now I am fully up and running. More and more I am realising how much of life is full of circles and cycles (no not those contraptions with two wheels). Once upon a time I was the teacher to my son and now it’s him and my three grandchildren who are the teachers and I am the pupil especially when it comes to anything IT related.

Later in the afternoon I watched the England football team, certainly in the second half, play the way they will need to if they are to achieve any success of significance. Makes a change.

Tuesday was definitely not a good day. The weather was appalling alternating between very heavy rain, half rain half snow then  turning back into a steady downpour which most unpleasant to be out in.

The appointment with my doctor yielded no further insight into what is causing the problems with my feet but I now have to have ANOTHER blood test, have a stool sample analysed and am being referred for a pelvic scan. None of these is a major problem but they are a nuisance. The saving grace is that my doctor has my best interests at heart and is doing his vey best for me. Can’t ask for anymore than that.

After leaving the surgery I took the bus into Barking to visit both the big Tesco and Asda stores to try, once again, to arrange for permission to use their premises for a charity fund collection day. Getting to see the right people is proving extremely difficult. Never available when I phone or visit so  I’ve had to put my tenacious hat on and will keep plugging away in the hope of wearing them down.
