It was another fine morning. The weather has been kind to me so far with only one morning that was rather wet. The walk was as serene as usual but I have now completed 6 miles in total (9.6 kilometres).
I am going to take Pat out to lunch today as I feel she deserves it after putting up with my obsession for this fund-raising project. We will go to a nice restaurant called Tarentinos in Hornchurch not just because the food is good but the staff there understand why I only have a starter and a G&T and then spend the rest of our time there watching Pat eat. It amazes me that after 41 years of marriage, and a few years before that, I can still happily enjoy watching her at any time.
I realise that there are calls on everybody to subscribe to a myriad of appeals for donations, many of them fronted by stars. I’m an ordinary bloke. I’m no star, never have been and never will be, but my cause is just as important, nevertheless.
If you have been following this blog you will know I was diagnosed with two separate Cancers and have been cured. What has not been told is the harrowing story of the time between those two events. It’s time to relate to you the first part of ‘My Cancer Journey’.
